"Glee" star Chris Colfer tells "Extra" he's enjoyed covering Top 40 artists like Beyoncé as a member of the high school choir on the hit FOX show, but you shouldn't expect to hear any Garth Brooks or Carrie Underwood tunes performed on the show.

"I couldn't do country, with all due respect to all country music artists," says Colfer, who plays Kurt.

"My parents dressed me up with a cowboy hat and we'd go to the rodeo when I was younger and it traumatized me for life," he goes on.

But the 19-year-old wouldn't protest if a country star appeared on "Glee."

"Country artists are always the nicest people, like Reba [McEntire]... She should be on the show," he says. "Come on the show Reba!"

The “King of Country” is back! 17x CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee George Strait will kick off his arena tour early next year and this time, he’s bringing along one very special lady – Reba McEntire.

The superstar acts performed together for the first time in many years for a sold-out crowd at the Cowboy’s Stadium inaugural event in Dallas. Selling out in less than an hour, fans and critics proclaimed the show one hot ticket! If You Buy Anti-Gay Products, Can You 'Offset' the Hate?

You've heard about carbon offsetting, where your decision to drive a Hummer or fly by private jet can be "offset" by paying a fee to a company like TerraPass to reduce your carbon footprint elsewhere. But what about hate offsetting? As in, if you want to buy a product from somebody who supports anti-gay efforts, can you offset your funding of homophobia by giving money to a pro-gay cause?

No, you cannot. And it's ridiculous to assume you could.

Except that's what the website GayGamer was advising video gamers this summer who absolutely had to purchase the Xbox 360 title Shadow Complex, which is based on sci-fi writer Orson Scott Card's Empire series. Which means in all likelihood (we haven't read the contracts) that your purchase of Shadow Complex from Chair Entertainment and Epic Game puts money directly into the pocket of Card, the National Organization for Marriage board member who thinks men and women become gay through childhood rape or molestation. (Card also called for the overthrow of government if Prop 8 didn't pass.)

By many accounts, Shadow Complex is a fantastic game. And just because it's benefiting a virulent homophobe isn't enough to keep some players from buying the game. So if you must have it, GayGamer advises you "offset" the hate funding by donating a few bucks to a gay charity. Will that be enough to keep you with a clear conscious?

It shouldn't.

Putting money directly into the hands of parties who campaign against gay rights is hard to defend on any level, even if you're also giving money to groups fighting for gay rights. You cannot have it both ways.

You cannot buy Stephenie Meyer's Twilight — which, because she is Mormon, some 10 percent of her profits will end up going to the Church's anti-gay crusade — and then also donate the same amount to the Courage Campaign. You are still funding hatred. You don't get to stay at Prop 8-funder Doug Manchester's Hyatt hotel in San Diego and then write a check for the price of your room and mini bar addiction to Equality California.

Consider the second-grade logic: It's the equivalent of donating cash to Protect Maine Equality and Stand For Marriage Maine. You wouldn't consider that scenario. So why are you considering the others? Because you absolutely must buy products that benefit civil rights rapists?

You might be able to find a moral excuse in there somewhere. We can't. But we're willing to be swayed.

Urine Test..... got this in an e-mail and thought I'd share. I like it.

THE JOB - URINE TEST (Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!)

Like most folks in this country, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck in my case, I am required to pass a random urine test (with which I have no problem). What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

So, here is my Question: Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass - doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money each state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'.

Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though. Some thing has to change in this country -- and soon!!!!!!!

Shirley MacLaine To Sell Items To Help Homeless Dogs

The Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society is getting some help from Shirley MacLaine to hope to sell some of her clothing and more in a rummage sale to be held on Sept. 11 at the Zoe & Guido's Pet Boutique, 1441-C Paseo de Peralta, NM.

Shirley MacLaine said: If there's one thing I've learned about this recession, is that there's a lot of things I don't need. I've given a lot of things away, and I thought, why not to the local shelter? It really moves me.

So if you happen to make it to the rummage sale you just might be able to get a jacket she wore on the set of 1996's Evening Star with Jack Nicholson. Another jacket kept her warm while working with Nicolas Cage in 1994's Guarding Tess. Or how about the black full-length coat that MacLaine wore to one of Elizabeth Taylor's fundraisers for the American Foundation of AIDS Research in the 1990s.

With a sale like this hopefully the animal shelter will be able to run their business a little longer and be able to care for more homeless animals.

Stallone, Sandler Are Animals

Cast as voice talent for live-action comedy.

June 23, 2009 - Adam Sandler and Sylvester Stallone will provide their voices for the live-action comedy The Zookeeper from MGM. Also offering up their vocal chops will be Cher, Jon Favreau, and Judd Apatow.

The film will star Kevin James and Rosario Dawson and is being produced by Sandler's Happy Madison company. Variety reports that the comic/actor will voice a capuchin monkey, Stallone a lion, Cher a giraffe, Favreau a bear, and Apatow an elephant. Jim Breuer, Faizon Love, and Bas Rutten will also be part of the voice cast.

The film is about zoo animals who try to teach their keeper about dating so that he can win back the girl of his dreams. It's being directed by Frank Coraci (The Wedding Singer) from a script by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, James, Rock Reuben, and Nick Bakay. Shooting starts at the end of the summer for an October, 2010 release.

The project certainly evokes the recent clips for Sandler's faux-films from Apatow's Funny People, doesn't it?

Cher lookalike for Russian 'Raymond'?

US sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond may launch in Russia with a Cher lookalike in a lead role, it has been reported.

Local producers are said to be searching for an actress who bears an uncanny resemblance to the 'Believe' singer to portray the part of Ray's mother on the remake.

Doris Roberts, who played the character on the original version from 1996 to 2005, admitted that she couldn't "wait to see that", Contactmusic reports.

She said: "They thought the person to play my role should be something like Cher. I don't know what that's gonna be like and I can't wait to see that.

"They claim they're inviting the original cast to Russia for the premiere. I hope I can go and I'm gonna get a Cher wig."

Raymond star Ray Romano is reportedly returning to series television later this year.
